Required Notifications for Newly Hired Employees and Substitutes

The district is required to provide you with information on topics associated with your rights, responsibilities and available resources.  It is your responsibility to review this documentation.  Your signature on the form included with your new hire packet indicates that you have done so or will do so.
Mandated Training
 
All employees and substitutes of the district are required to complete training annually related to reporting suspected child abuse, sexual harassment, and bloodborne pathogens.  Access the Keenan training by following the directions provided in the following attached document.
Reasonable Assurance
 
Newly hired substitutes are provided reasonable assurance of returning to work in a substitute capacity at the close of holiday and recess periods within the current school year as specified in the following letter.
Introduction to Retirement Systems
 
As a newly hired employee or substitute you may be eligible to participate in either the CalSTRS or CalPERS retirement system.  Click the links above for information on these programs.
