Moreland’s Food Service Consultant, Rick Kessler with Sodexo, applied for the grant on behalf of Anderson and oversees the District’s entire food program. “We have partnered with our schools to increase awareness of healthy habits with our students,”said Rick. “From our District Wellness Policy to the availability of the A-Z salad bars at all our schools. and now these additional healthy snacks for students, I’m excited to see more and more students utilize these programs.”
The goal of the California Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is to provide new food experiences to children, to create a healthier school environment, and make a difference in children’s diets to ensure a healthy lifestyle. Schools must meet certain eligibility requirements to apply for the FFVP.
