Sriram Chatrathi was selected for a provisional appointment to Moreland’s Board of Trustees at a Special Board Meeting on January 23, 2019. Sriram is replacing Robert Varich, who was elected to the Campbell Union High School District’s Board in the November 2018 election.

Eighth grade Spelling Bee Champions from Easterbrook Discovery, Latimer, and Moreland Middle schools will compete in a SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee online test this month, with a goal of being among the top 50 in the region to move on to the Bay Area Regional Spelling Bee in Pleasanton in February.

Four Moreland Middle School (MMS) students have been selected to be musicians in the regional California Music Educators Association (CMEA) ensembles and three Easterbrook Discovery Middle School (EDMS) students/one Latimer student/four MMS students were selected from musicians throughout the State of California to be part of the Junior High All-State Honor Ensembles.

Easterbrook Discovery and Moreland Middle Schools have been awarded Innovation Grants through the Moreland Education Foundation (MEF) Small Grants Program.

Team CENTER, a group of three Moreland Middle School students, is one of only five teams that advanced to the First LEGO Robotics Northern California Peninsula District Championship taking place December 16, 2018 at St. Francis High School in Mountain View.

Felipe Feldman, an 8th grader at Easterbrook Discovery Middle School, has been selected to be a part of the SJZ High School All Stars, a regional audition-based jazz band for students interested in the study and performance of jazz.

Anderson Elementary School was the recipient of a $7,000 grant and school supplies, as part of the Allstate Foundation’s Helping Hands grants.

Anderson and Latimer Elementary schools have been awarded Innovation Grants through the Moreland Education Foundation (MEF) Small Grants Program.

Eighth grade Easterbrook Discovery School student, Amelie Arango, and seventh grade Latimer student, Danielle De La Cruz, were selected to serve as two of only three Middle School representatives for the City of Campbell Youth Commission.

Three Moreland teachers were accepted to be a part of the Wipro Science Education Fellowship program that is scheduled to begin in August 2018 at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education.
