Latimer Student Participates in Young Entrepreneur Program, Proceeds to Benefit MEF

March 23, 2023, San Jose, CA: Latimer School 8th grade student, Sara Kalangi, will participate in the Creative Imagination Schoolhouse Children’s Business Fair this Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 12:30pm - 3:30pm at the Los Altos Community Center. Selling her handmade crocheted items, Sara plans to donate 20% of her proceeds to the Moreland Education Foundation (MEF).

Sara has participated in young entrepreneur opportunities before with her business, Crochet2College, a business she created post-pandemic. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, as Sara has continued to sell on the selling platform, Etsy.com and used proceeds from her items to save for college and donate to MEF.

The Creative Imagination Schoolhouse (CIS) Children's Business Fair is an event where children ages 5-15 become an entrepreneur for a one-day market experience. The children themselves make, create, and provide products and services to sell to the public. All participants and aspiring entrepreneurs have to plan, create, advertise and market on their own with very minimal help from adults. All profits earned by the businesses are kept by the aspiring entrepreneurs.

The Creative Imagination Schoolhouse (CIS) Children's Business Fair will be held in the Grand Oaks Room of the Los Altos Community Center, located at 97 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos.
