Moreland Preschool State Program

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! 

Our Moreland Preschool state-funded program offers free part-day developmentally appropriate preschool instruction for eligible three- and four-year-old children. Our program offers two sessions five days a week. 

Morning (AM) Session: 8:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Afternoon (PM) Session: 11:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

The Moreland Preschool state program is open to children of all neighborhoods and is now offered at two locations:

Anderson Elementary School, 4000 Rhoda Drive, San Jose, 95117

Payne Elementary School, 3750 Gleason Avenue, San Jose, 95130

You may choose your site preference when applying online. Please note that the site you choose is not guaranteed and is based on availability. Once your application is submitted, our administrative assistant will let you know if your preferred site is available and if your family qualifies for services.

Each family interested in applying for subsidized services must fill out a program waiting list application. To apply online, please use the link below. Once the application is submitted, an eligibility rank will be assigned to the family based on income and family size. Families will be contacted based on the identified priorities and ranking from California Department of Education, Title V Child Development Division regulations to verify income and family size when space is available.
