Moreland Middle School Boys’ Soccer Teams Win League Championship

San Jose, April 19, 2018: Moreland School District announced that both the Moreland Middle School (MMS) Junior Varsity and Varsity Boys’ Soccer teams won the West Valley Athletic League (WVAL) Championship on April 4, 2018.

With 13 teams in the WVAL, the Junior Varsity team, led by Coach Ricky Martin, defeated Campbell Middle School 2-1, playing at Anderson Elementary School.  This is the second year in a row that MMS’ Junior Varsity team led an undefeated season and claimed the Championship. MMS’ Varsity team, led by Moreland Middle School teacher Chase Rollings, beat out Monroe Middle School with a score of 0-0, winning on penalty kicks.
