Heat Advisory

Please be advised the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September 6

The forecast indicates our area will reach the “ORANGE” (moderate) risk level today.  According to guidance from the California Department of Health (CDPH) on school sports and strenuous activities, the orange level calls for the following precautions:

  • Reduce time in the sun during the warmest part of the day

  • Encourage everyone to stay hydrated throughout the day.

  • Advise students and staff to remain in cool places, especially during peak heat hours.

  • Utilize air-conditioned spaces wherever available or use fans to keep air moving.

We will continue to monitor the heat index and risk levels throughout the day. For now, we will:

  • Ensure PE activities are light.

  • Encourage students to take frequent water breaks

Should the National Weather Service heat risk forecast tool indicate the “RED” (major) risk level for our area, we may need to move outdoor activities indoors.

If you have any concerns or require additional support, do not hesitate to reach out to your front office.
