Board Meetings

The Moreland School District Board of Trustees are locally elected public officials entrusted with governing the Moreland School District’s seven (7) schools.  Their role is to ensure that the District is responsive to the values, beliefs and priorities of the Moreland community.  The Board of Trustees fulfills their role by performing five (5) major responsibilities in a public open Board Meeting:
  • Setting direction
  • Establishing an effective and efficient structure
  • Providing support
  • Ensuring accountability
  • Providing community leadership as advocates for children, the Moreland School District and public schools
 
Board Members fulfill these responsibilities by working together as a governance team with the Superintendent to make decisions that will best serve all the students in the Moreland community.  As such, no decision or group discussion happens in private (see The Brown Act for the Board of Trustees meeting guidelines).

The Board of Trustees welcomes community members to attend Moreland Board of Trustees meetings.
  
All meetings, unless stated otherwise, will be held in the Board Room at the Moreland School District Office at 4711 Campbell Ave. San Jose, CA 95130.

Note: Agenda and minutes are publicly posted on the District's web site and at each school in session. Additional information regarding items on the agenda is available in the office of the Superintendent. Board agenda is posted on the web site the Friday afternoon prior to a Board Meeting.

Comments from the Public:
Oral Presentations to the Board are limited to three minutes.

Written and oral communications not scheduled on the agenda may be presented, but the Board cannot confer on these communications if they relate to personnel or policy. If any Board action is required, the item must be scheduled for a subsequent agenda.
