Strategic Plan

In April of 2007, a dedicated group of community members, parents, and Moreland staff articulated a strong mission and vision statement and outlined high quality goals for the Moreland School District.  During this development of the core plan, the following four main goals were outlined:

  • Close the Achievement Gap While Raising the Achievement of All Students

  • Prepare Students to Become Responsible and Caring Citizens

  • Ensure Effective Communication

  • Attract, Support, and Retain Exemplary Staff

In the fall of 2010, the existing Strategic Plan was reviewed and modified to meet the changing needs of our students and the District in our global culture. At this time, a fifth goal was outlined:

  • Ensure Fiscal Stability
During the 2015-2016 school year, the Superintendent’s Advisory Council was developed to revise and update the plan.  Adjustments were made to support the new direction of public education as outlined through the Every Child Succeeds Act, 21st Century Learning Standards, Common Core and Smarter Balanced implementation.  The Moreland Board of Trustees approved the revised Strategic Plan in March of 2016.
