Updates and Information on Moreland District Construction and Maintenance Projects – Summer Projects 2008

Anderson:
- Install a new front gate and fencing adjacent to the front office
- Installation of solar panels on two buildings (Completed May 2008)
Baker:
- Install a new playground structure and poured-in-place rubber surface
- Paint the exterior of all buildings, doors, and frames
- Install two ball walls on playground
- Add connecting doors between Rooms 17 to 18 and Rooms 19 to 20
- Installation of solar panels on two buildings (Completed June 2008)
Country Lane:
- Paint the exterior of all buildings, doors, and frames
- Slurry seal the blacktop areas and restripe courts
- Install one ball wall on playground
- Install a walking track around the field area
Easterbrook Discovery:
- Construct seven new modular classrooms
(Completed by August 18, 2008)
- Convert large activity room and two science rooms into four regular classrooms
- Install water/sinks/sewer to numerous classrooms
- Add playground access to restroom
- Remodel locker room (Includes separate access to restroom from playground and locker room)
Payne:
- Install two ball walls on playground
- Add connecting doors between Rooms K-1 to K-2
- Install a walking track around the field area
- Slurry seal the blacktop areas and restripe courts
- Installation of solar panels on two buildings (Completed June 2008)
Moreland Middle:
- Build a new modular boys/girls locker room
- Future Construction (Winter 2008 – Fall 2010)
- Construct new two story library/media center (1st floor – nine classrooms, 2nd floor – Library/Media Center)
- Convert old library to two classrooms and small conference rooms
- Upgrade staff room area (Convert small office area to satellite staff room)
- Upgrade two science rooms (add gas and water)
- Remove 18 portable classrooms and add 50-space staff parking lot
Community Center:
- Remove windows and repair wall on south side of gym wall - To Be Determined
- Paint the exterior of all buildings, doors, and frames - To Be Determined
Challenger School (Strawberry Park School Site):
District approved – Challenger funded projects – Summer 2008
- Extend and add new concrete walkways and asphalt paving outside classsrooms
- Add new curb borders to all playground equipment structures
- Install two new playground structures and curb borders
- Construct concrete retaining walls to support new planter boxes
- Revitalize existing sod and extend irrigation system
