Superintendent Dr. Clover Codd is a passionate and innovative educational leader with more than 20 years of experience teaching and leading for equity and excellence in TK-12 public schools. Dr. Codd joined the Moreland community in July 2021.

Dr. Codd previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Seattle Public Schools. She has served in various leadership roles since her years in the classroom teaching, beginning with seven years as a school site principal, Professional Growth and Educator Support, Director, and Chief Partnership Officer.  Dr. Codd is passionate about ensuring all children have access to high-quality teachers who nurture and inspire the gifts of their students, and create engaging classrooms where all students are supported, challenged, and have a strong sense of belonging.  As Chief Human Resources Officer, she worked closely with teachers and principals to build a professional growth system that provides supports for new teachers through mentorship, coaching, and foundational coursework that focuses on culturally responsive teaching practices.

Dr. Codd received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Humboldt State University in California, her master’s degree in Teaching, and her School and District Leadership degrees at the University of Washington. She received her Doctor of Education degree at Columbia University Teacher’s College with her dissertation studies in “Exploring a Learning-Orientated Model of the School District Superintendency.” Her Superintendent internship was completed in the New York City Public Schools in the area of “Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners”.
