November 17, 2017, San Jose, Ca:  Two Moreland Middle School students were honored Tuesday night with the “Miracle Mile Optimist Club of Campbell” award.  Eighth graders Sarah Coleman and Aarushi Wadhwa were recognized for their school and community service.

Sarah Coleman is currently a member of the Greenskeepers Club at Moreland Middle School and is in her third year as a City of Campbell Youth Commissioner.

Aarushi Wadhwa is currently a member of California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF), Greenskeepers, and Cornerstone clubs at Moreland Middle School.  Outside of school, Aarushi formerly served as a City of Campbell Youth Commissioner and currently serves as a Make-A-Wish Foundation Youth Board Member.

The Miracle Mile Optimist Club of Campbell recognizes youth who promote an active interest in government and volunteer to support the well-being of mankind. One of Moreland School District’s Strategic Plan goals is to Prepare Students to Become Responsible Citizens by demonstrating an awareness and respect for school, community, the world and the environment.  Moreland is incredibly proud of Aarushi and Sarah, along with all the District students giving back to their school and community.
