More general info about the conference:

Co-sponsored by the California Association for the Gifted, Santa Lucia Region (Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey Counties, online at www.cagsantalucia.org) but is open to all students! This includes students at public, private, charter schools and those homeschooled.
Preparing for and participating in the conference insures that students are applying many high-level skills asked for in the Common Core State Standards by creating and researching an engaging presentation.
It has grown from humble beginnings (around 40 students in 2009) to over 50 workshops offered by 100 or more students and 200 or so attendees for each of the last several years. The variety of workshop offerings is pretty amazing and inspiring; see the list of last year’s workshops at www.cagsantalucia.org.
For students who need more challenge or who finish assigned work quickly, preparing for the S2S can be a meaningful and engaging “go to” learning activity.
Some districts and sites have had great success by using Extended Learning as a venue for coaching students as they prepare for the S2S.
It is100% FREE for all attendees, and presenters are given a free conference tee shirt.

The small group of us who work on this 1-day conference volunteer our time and fundraise to make it possible. We hope that we can count on you to support the conference by informing your students, teachers and parents by forwarding and posting this information. Feel free to contact me for more information or to help inform students, parents and teachers.
